ALL Volunteers - Season UPDATE

Hey Marlins!!

I wanted to take a moment to check-in with you all about volunteer needs for the remainder of the season. But first, THANK YOU for your flexibility and support this season so far. I know you've heard it before, but swim meets literally cannot happen without parent volunteers, so THANK YOU. The majority of you have already earned your minimum volunteer points. If I have a concern about your family's volunteer commitment you have received a separate email from me last week.Looking ahead for the remainder of the season our Volunteer needs look a little different. Here is a brief overview of what's to come. 6/10 - HOME vs Sand Creek Sea Lions - VOLUNTEERING -

We really could still use help for 2nd shift concessions and equipment crew takedown. Please don't leave it to the few that are signed up to do it, email or see me at the yellow tent if you're able to help. This is our last DUAL meet of the regular season!

6/11 - Summer Champs @ Summer Creek HS - VOLUNTEERING - this is a BTA hosted event and historically they provide all volunteers. That should mean a break for you! If you are registered for this meet, be on the lookout for more information to come about the meet. Please note, tent parents ARE NOT on duty, individual families will be responsible for getting their swimmers to the ready bench at the correct times.

6/17 - Divisionals @ Atascocita HS - VOLUNTEERING - This year we are being asked to fulfill 30 jobs over the course of 3 shifts. All families are expected to help the team fulfill the volunteer requirements asked of us as a team by the division regardless of your current point status or season-long holder status. Each job is worth 2 points and will give you 2 entries into our free swimmer drawing on awards night. Sign-ups are open on-line now and will remain open until 6/14 @ 11:30pm. Your flexibility and support in helping at this meet is noticed and appreciated, it will not happen without the spots filled, so THANK YOU in advance for taking a shift.
What exactly is Divisionals? Divisionals is our end of season meet for the regular season. It is a competition with ALL of the teams we have competed against this season. EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to attend. Swimming in a high school pool is a super fun experience for swimmers who often will drop time due to indoor pool conditions. An added bonus for all of us is that set-up is indoors, that means air conditioning!! This is also the last opportunity to swim a qualifying time for one of the end of season invitationals. Be sure to declare your swimmers intent no later than Tuesday at NOON on June 13th. Please note, tent parents ARE NOT on duty, individual families will be responsible for getting their swimmers to the ready bench at the correct times.
6/22 - Awards Night 6 - 8pm @ New Life Church- VOLUNTEERING - NONE needed! But this is a fun night of celebration for all of our swimmers, volunteers, and coaches so I thought I'd toss it into my timeline here. Please make plans to join us!
6/24 - 6/25  End of Season INVITATIONALS - Trinity / All-Stars / Ponderosa
VOLUNTEERING - We will not know what each meet is asking from us in terms of volunteer positions until a few days before each event. As soon as that information is available it will be sent out to families registered for each invitational. Families who have registered invitational swimmers will be asked to help the team fulfill the volunteer requirements asked of us as a team regardless of your current point status or season-long holder status. Your flexibility and support in helping at these meets is noticed and appreciated, they will not happen without the spots filled, so THANK YOU in advance for taking a shift.
What exactly are End of Season Invitationals? These meets are the last swim meet of the entire season. In order to attend, swimmers must meet a minimum qualifying time standard in the stroke they wish to compete in. They are hosted at pools outside of the Kingwood/Atascocita area and include hundreds of swimmers from across the entire NWAL region. It is a great experience for those that meet minimum time qualifications. Please be sure to check our website Invitationals section for each meets qualifying times to determine if your swimmer has qualified, pay careful attention to YARDS and METERS. Veteran swim families are an incredible resource for navigating these meets, don't be afraid to ask, that includes me at the yellow tent this weekend so come on by!
Again, THANK YOU for your time and support this season. From setting your alarms E-A-R-L-Y, to volunteering and cheerleading, and I know so much more. We are almost to the finish line!
 Go M-A-R-L-I-N-S!
