Volunteer NEED - Head Concession & Head Equipment
Good afternoon Marlins!
It must be swim season, because this is your first official plea for volunteer help from your friendly volunteer coordinator. With the season fast approaching, it's time for me to start working season-long openings. Two critical roles I am working on filling first are listed below:
1. Head of Concessions (HOME Meets ONLY)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual to lead our concessions operations during our summer swim meets. (HOME MEETS ONLY 5/4, 5/18, 6/8 and possibly 6/15 for the Divisional meet if our team is assigned this task at that event)
The Head of Concessions will play a crucial role in enhancing the meet experience for attendees by providing a variety of food and beverage options. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a passion for service, and the ability to manage a small team of volunteers.
**Responsibilities:**- Plan, organize, and oversee the operation of the concession stand at all home swim meets
- Develop and implement a menu that is appealing, cost-effective, and easy to prepare and serve
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations pertaining to food preparation and sale
- Purchase food, beverages, and supplies, staying within the allocated budget
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to assist with concession operations
- Coordinate setup and cleanup of the concession area for each event
- Handle cash and payments, ensuring accurate cash management and record-keeping
2. Head of Equipment (AWAY Meets ONLY)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual with access to a truck and (and possibly a trailer) to transport team tents and oversee our equipment crew during AWAY swim meets ONLY 5/11, 5/25, 6/1.
The AWAY Equipment Crew Manager will be responsible for the transportation, setup and takedown of all team tents. Ensuring that the team area is properly prepared for the day. This role requires strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient meet experience for participants and spectators alike.
**Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate the transportation of team tents and tarps to away meet locations
- Coordinate the setup and takedown of all team tents and tarps at away meet locations
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of equipment, ensuring that all items are accounted for and in good working condition.
- Train and supervise a team of volunteers to assist with equipment setup and takedown
- Coordinate with facility staff to ensure visiting team setup location is within established guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized equipment storage area, ensuring that equipment is properly stored and secured between events.
Both of the positions listed above will meet your volunteer requirement for the season and includes the following perks as well:
