🐟 Marlins Mail: Remaining Season Schedule & Invitationals

REMINDER: No practice on Memorial Day, May 26. Thank you to all who have served, and especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice

REMAINING SEASON SCHEDULE

It’s hard to believe we are already at the midpoint of our summer league swim season! We are so proud of our swimmers for being UNDEFEATED so far and, more importantly, for the effort and improvement we are seeing in the pool! Below are the regular-season swim meets that are left on our schedule. Please make sure to put these on your calendars so we can be well represented as we finish out strong:

Sat 5/31: MBW Marlins @ Trailwood Village (away)

Sat 6/7: MBW Marlins vs. Bear Branch (home)

Sat 6/14: Divisionals @ Kingwood High School - this is an opportunity for ALL of our swimmers to swim on the ā€œbig stageā€ at an indoor high school pool against all the teams from our division this year!

INVITATIONALS

Summer Champs: Sunday, June 8
The Summer Champs invitational is hosted at Kingwood High School and is open to any swimmer who has a qualifying time as of May 31. The deadline to declare for this meet and submit entry fees is Sunday, June 1 at 2 p.m.

View the Summer Champs entry page for more info.

Post-Season Invitationals: June 20, 21, 22
The Trinity invitational will not be held this year due to construction work being done at the pool where this meet is hosted. Instead, NWAL will place our team into either All Stars or Red, White, and Blue. We have not yet received our team’s assigned meet, but the qualifying times and days are the same for both meets.

The Ponderosa meet will occur as normal this year.

NEXT SWIM MEET - Saturday, May 31

Our next swim meet will be at Trailwood Village pool against the Gators.

Declare Your Swimmers
Don’t forget to declare swimmers to let us know if the swimmer will be attending or not attending. This must be done by noon on Tuesday, June 3. Declare here.

ā˜‘ļø Swimmer check-in: 7:15 a.m.

Swimmers who are not checked in at the yellow tent by 7:15 a.m. will be scratched from relays.

Volunteer Job Sign-Up
Volunteer job sign-up for the upcoming swim meet will open on Sunday, May 25 at 8 p.m. Volunteers working any job, first or second shift, must check in at the yellow tent no later than 7:45 a.m.

COACHES’ CORNER

šŸ† And……. Another Marlin Win!

Thank you to everyone who stuck with us through the weather delay! We know our swimmers were really looking forward to those relays at the end, and we appreciate your patience and support.

We saw great progress at this meet—especially with fewer disqualifications! This week, our focus is on breaststroke. Our goal: get EVERY swimmer legal in breaststroke by the next meet! Please make sure your swimmer attends practice as much as possible so they don’t miss the important technique work we have planned.

A quick reminder: When declaring your swimmer for meets, please include all stroke requests in the comment box. We know many of you are working hard towards qualifying for invitationals.

REMINDERS:

āœ… Block Access: Only coaches and officials are allowed behind the blocks during warm-ups and the meet. This keeps warm-ups organized and reduces distractions for swimmers. Thanks for understanding and cooperating!

āœ‰ļø Coach Contact Update: We have a new coach email address this season: [email protected]. If you’re a returning family, please update your records and remove the old address.

Let’s keep up the great work—Go Marlins! 🐠

— Coach Olivia, Coach Maddie, Coach Karsen & Coach Mia
