Marlins Dads,

Do you want the entire meet off to relax or go home and sleep?  How about complementary breakfast and lunch for home meets?  Or maybe playing an active role in preparing the meet grounds for the team, including first dibs on chair placement in your tent?

If any of these interest you, then you should consider joining the equipment team.  You show up at 0530 hrs to set up and you're done by around 0630 hrs.  You are off until the end of the meet (about 1430 hrs or 2:30 pm).  Another hour of work at the end of the meet and you're done.  For home meets we will also feed you breakfast and lunch for your efforts.  For away meets you still meet at 0530 hrs but you will only transport the tents to the away site. Again, done by 0630 hrs and you have the next 8-9 hours off.  When other parents will be standing in the heat for hours, you'll be in your A/C or at least under a team tent.  Due to the camaraderie, dads that join the Team rarely do anything else.  The more dads join the quicker everything gets done.  Please give it some thought and become an equipment team member.  Go to the season-long page in the Swim Meet section and select an open position under Equipment Team.  Thanks.
